For many Houstonians, Spring Break is almost here! Many schools across the Houston-area will be out next week. If you’re looking for activities to do with the family or maybe you’ve taken some time off yourself, here’s how you can get in on the fun next week.

Head To The Rodeo

The most popular week at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo is always Spring Break week. You can expect large crowds and long lines, but also plenty of wild food creations and entertaining concerts. On Wednesday, March 13, seniors 60 and over, and children 12 and under, can get in free until noon because of the rodeo’s Family Wednesdays. The concert lineup is huge, with popular artists like Bun B, Jonas Brothers, and Zac Brown Band performing throughout the week.

Go Roller-Skating at Discovery Green

Make time to check out Discovery Green’s outdoor roller-skating rink, which is open until the end of the month. It only costs $12 for admission and to rent roller skates, and the rink is open until 11 p.m during Spring Break week. On Clutch City Wednesday, skate to music by Houston artists and get $2 off your admission if you wear any gear repping a Houston pro sports team. Enjoy music from live DJs on Friday and Saturday nights.

Enjoy The Outdoors

Take advantage of the humidity-free days and spend some quality time outside. This weekend, view beautiful flowers on the Azalea Trail at Bayou Bend and Rienzi. The Bayou Bend Collection and Gardens will also host free activities all week long for children including a petting zoo, art activities, puppet show, and outdoor games. Pick a day to explore the Houston Botanic Garden or enroll your kids in their Spring Break Botani Camp.

Explore Houston Nightlife

Once you put your kids to bed, spend the night laughing during a performance of Drunk Shakespeare. Grab your cowboy boots for Line Dance Night at POST Houston. Dance the night away during a Samba Dance Class at Midtown Park. Enjoy a St. Patrick’s Day themed-cocktail class at William Price Distilling.
