An Insider’s Guide to the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo

For my wine lovers, there’s a tucked away oasis at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo that you need to add to your bucket list. The Champion Wine Garden offers more than 75 award-winning wines and live music every day throughout rodeo season. So, how can you get in on the fun?

How To Visit

The wine garden, located near NRG Center, does not have a cover charge for admission. You can walk right in and grab a table for you and your friends. However, the wine garden does get packed, so you’ll want to plan accordingly and visit during less busy times, like on a weekday. You can also reserve a table for up to four guests during specific hours. The Founder’s Tent, which is close to the bar and near the Main Stage for music, can also be reserved for $75 during the week and $100 on weekends.

The Wine & Music

Grab a glass or bottle of wine from the Champion Wine Garden’s extensive wine list. The menu features wine from the Rodeo’s International Wine competition. Don’t have tickets for one of the big concerts inside? Enjoy live music every day on the main stage and Lonestar stage from a variety of artists. Check out the main stage and Lonestar stage schedule here.
