Houston has an amazing live music scene which includes White Oak Music Hall, just north of downtown Houston. This popular music venue features a wide range of musical acts. If you’re looking for a non-stadium venue that still brings in some big names, then add it to your bucket list. Let’s learn more!
The Start of White Oak
Before White Oak Music Hall was built in 2015, the music venue used to be home to Fitzgerald’s, one of the oldest music halls in Houston. The concert booking and promotions group Pester ran into issues hosting larger shows at the 100-year-old venue. So, they decided to create a new custom built, multi-level venue called White Oak Music Hall. Meanwhile, Fitzgerald’s began hosting shows at another venue in historic Heights, before closing down permanently in 2019. White Oak opened to the public in 2016 and kicked off its first concerts on their outdoor stage.
What To Expect On A Visit
White Oak has three performance spaces, including an outdoor lawn stage. The indoor shows feel intimate because you’re not in a giant arena like NRG Stadium or Toyota Center. However, there’s still a large enough crowd for you to shout and sing along with others. White Oak hosts concerts several nights throughout the week. Some shows coming up this month include performances by pop singer Ryan Beatty, viral Tik Tok star Ricky Montgomery, and Bratty, the brainchild of Mexican singer-songwriter, Jennifer Abigail Juárez Vázquez.
