Are you looking for a holiday cocktail? Miracle at Johnny’s and Winnie’s have become popular holiday traditions in Houston. A neighborhood cocktail bar in the Heights and a cocktail/sandwich bar in Midtown both transform into a winter wonderland every holiday season. So, what can you expect when you get there?

What Is Miracle in Houston?

This holiday experience begins daily in late November and lasts throughout the holiday season. Once you make your way into the bar, expect festive Christmas themed cocktails and beautiful decorations. This is a popular tradition, so you’ll want to make reservations or plan for a wait.

Miracle at Johnny’s

If you plan to attend the Christmas pop-up at Johnny’s, make sure to reserve your spot ahead of time. Reservations are already going fast for weekend slots. However, I recommend staying up a little later and making a reservation for a weeknight. At this Heights cocktail bar, expect plenty of delicious drinks, like their Christmas Cricket, made with Andes mint. I suggest you get dinner ahead of time because their menu is limited to small shareable bar snacks. Children are welcome at this pop-up until 7 p.m.

Miracle at Winnie’s

Winnie’s in Midtown offers tasty Christmas cocktails, themed sandwiches, and snacks. You can now reserve a spot for lunch and into the afternoon, but seating in the evening is walk-in only. Make sure to get there early and prepare for a wait. Check out their Elfing Around #2 drink, which is a Christmas take on French 75, featuring brandy, mulled wine syrup, and sparkling wine. Children are welcome at this pop-up until 8 p.m.

I’ve enjoyed my time at both pop-ups! Have you been to either Miracle spots? I want to hear about your experience.
