Did you know there’s a new book bar in the burbs that sells cocktails and books? Well, I’m here to brighten up your week and help you establish your long weekend plans, stat. LIT bookbar opened earlier this spring in Richmond and is already getting a lot of buzz. Let’s learn more!
What To Expect
LIT bookbar, which opened in March, is the only independent bookstore in Richmond, a suburb in Fort Bend. During the pandemic, owner Jillian Reed got the idea for the book bar as she and her friends gathered for a boozy book club. Since it opened, the bookstore has become a hub for local author events and live music. The owner also plans to host wine and cocktail tasting and monthly silent reading events.
The Monthly Book Club
The book bar also hosts a monthly book club for members, which includes a book of the month, free cocktail, and 10% off books for that month. If you have your own book club, you can also use the space to meet.
What’s Coming Up
On Friday, May 31, enjoy an evening of live music from Carlee Scott, a 17-year-old singer who blends Americana, folk, and Texas country music. Become a member of their book club to join their next boozy book club meeting on Monday, June 4. Finally, mark your calendar for a live music performance from Alfie Chambers and Ignacio Gonzalez on Friday, June 7.
