A Twilight Epiphany at Rice University

00:00:00

The Texas Medical Center is a bustling part of Houston, with more than 160,000 people visiting per day. Many travel from all over the world to receive treatment at the medical center, which is considered the largest life sciences destination in the world. Here are some fun activities to get into, whether you’re visiting or live nearby.

🥳 Let’s Explore

Spend some time walking the beautiful grounds at nearby Rice University. While you’re on campus, visit the James Turrell Twilight Epiphany Skyspace, which displays a spectacular light sequence during sunrise and sunset. If you can’t make it during those hours, it’s still worth it to just sit in the space and daydream. Visit the Health museum, where you can learn more about the human body through interactive exhibits.

🍽️ Let’s Eat

For pizza lovers like me, make a trip to Two Guys Pizzeria for delicious hand-tossed pizzas, wings, and their beef & jalapeno pizza rolls. Also make sure to add III by Wolfgang Puck to your bucket list for their farm-to-table menu of globally inspired comfort food. Then, take a less than 10 minute drive to indulge in Coppa Osteria’s modern Italian dishes.

👟 Let’s Adventure

Enjoy a day of golf at Hermann Park’s golf course, which is open seven days a week. You can also go for a walk at the Japanese Garden, where you’ll find Japanese maples, cherry trees, and other eye-catching flowers. Stop by Cockrell Butterfly Center and marvel at their immersive walk-through butterfly habitat, or spend time inside their Rainforest Conservatory.
