During the holidays, downtown Houston is decked out. Where should you go to celebrate?
Let’s Skate
I highly recommend ice skating at Discovery Green because it’s lovely and affordable and is open on holidays. Once you’re done, go to the fabulous Phoenicia Specialty Foods and grab a coffee or hot chocolate. Finish your evening at Hearsay On The Green with a hot toddy. If you’re feeling extra fancy, grab a drink to toast the holiday from Bayou & Bottle inside the Four Seasons.
Let’s Swim
If you haven’t been to the Texas-shaped lazy atop the Marriott Marquis’s roof, then what are you doing? Only in Texas can you float in a heated lazy river (80 degrees!), with a view of downtown, underneath Christmas lights.
Let’s Walk
Admire the holiday lights across from the Hobby Center and stop by City Hall to see their 3D trees. Head to the new Trebly Park, where you can enjoy a hot chocolate bar and holiday art installations. Finally, end at POST Houston’s rooftop to ooh and ah over their “Winter Wonderlawn” and its ginormous, beautiful Christmas tree.
