If you’re looking for a tasty food truck in the Houston area, you won’t have to search hard. Our city is filled with more than 500 food trucks to satisfy almost any craving. So, where should you go if you want to devour tacos, something sweet, or another delicious option? Check out my guide below 😋

The Best Tacos

If you meet a seasoned Houstonian who loves tacos, then they’ve likely mentioned Tacos Tierra Caliente, the truck across the street from West Alabama Ice House. This food truck offers delicious breakfast tacos, quesadillas, gorditas, and tortas. One of the best parts about Tacos Tierra Caliente is the price: Breakfast tacos start at just $2. City Cast Houston Executive Producer Laura Isensee loves their barbacoa and pastor tacos!

The Best New Food Truck

This new family-friendly food truck park, Porky’s Backyard, out in Humble is worth the quick road trip. Pick from a range of foods that represent the diverse cuisines of Houston, including Casita Colombian Food, Asian Fusion 15, and Jo’s Brisket BBQ. Besides food, you can enjoy their F1 racing simulators and their 40-tap beer wall.

The Best Sweet Treat

It’s one of the hottest weeks this year in Houston, so it’s the perfect time to check out The Doughcone for their ice cream and hand-rolled cinnamon sugar doughnut cones. Their location and schedule varies, so you’ll want to follow their page. This week, you’ll find them at McGovern Centennial Gardens in Hermann Park on Thursday and Saturday.

The Best Barbecue

Looking for ribs that fall off the bone? Then, you’ve hit the jackpot with MadMax BBQ. This family-owned food truck is catering only, but if you have a wedding, birthday, or family barbecue coming up, then book them. Some items that are making my mouth water include the rib sandwich, boudin with crackers, and their loaded baked potato.

The Best Lunch Truck

Abu Omar Halal, believed to be Houston's first halal food truck, originally opened in 2011. But since then, it's has expanded to multiple locations across the country. Their fan favorite is the chicken shawarma, but you can’t go wrong with one of their other shawarma wraps or rice bowls.

The Best Dinner Truck

If you’re looking for a fun night out, then try Truck Yard Houston near downtown. This outdoor bar hosts live music everyday, has a karaoke room, and also rotates new food trucks throughout the week. This week, you can find Waffle Bus, Foreign Policy, House of Hoopz BBQ, Southern Slider Co, El Guajillo, and others.
