What the heck is a crawfish chimney? (Lisa Gray)

Have you seen some unusual looking muddy blobs that look like little volcanoes in your neighborhood? Our pal Lisa Gray has answers.


“They're crawfish chimneys, entrances to the little swamp creatures' burrows, which can extend as deep as three feet below ground. If you see them in your yard, be grateful: They're aerating your soil and improving your drainage,” writes Gray.
