Your Guide to March in Houston

00:00:00

We’re outside, y’all! March in Houston is one of the best months of the year. The weather is humidity-free, the days are longer, and there are tons of fun outdoor activities to do around the city. So, what are the best festivities to partake in this month? I’ve got you covered with some tips below from the City Cast Houston crew.

The Best Outdoor Festivals

  • Host Raheel Ramzanali enjoys flying a special kite every year with his family at the International Art & Kite Festival in Sugar Land. His tip: Buy a kite before the event to save money.
  • Next, add Jazzy Sundays at Emancipation Park to your March bucket list. The concerts featuring Houston jazz artists take place at a different Houston park each month through May.
  • On Saturday, March 16, enjoy the Reggae in the Park Festival at Guadalupe Park Plaza, which features beautiful artwork, fun games, delicious food, and music from Dem Roots, Sunami Force, DJ Supa Neil, and others.
  • For crawfish lovers, check out the city’s Crawfish Kickoff Festival on Sunday, March 17 for live music, dancing, and of course, tons of mouthwatering crawfish.

The Best Outdoor Restaurants

  • Have you been to POST Houston’s rooftop too many times? Producer Carlignon Jones has another alternative: Z on 23 Rooftop Bar. The bar has breathtaking views of downtown Houston and refreshing drinks.
  • If you’re wondering where to find me, your favorite newsletter editor, these days, I’m likely sitting on 93’ Til’s patio in Montrose drinking a glass of wine and eating their tiramisu.
  • On a warm spring day, Raheel can’t get enough of boiled cajun crawfish from the LA Crawfish Company.
