Are you trying to go without alcohol this month and embrace a Dry January? If so, it may be easier than you think! Houston has plenty of spots for you to sip on a delicious mocktail. Let’s take a look!

I had a blast chatting with Chef Nico Baizan de Aldecoa of the new Maven Coffee + Cocktails, and this month they’re offering some tasty alternatives to alcohol. Check out their caffeinated mocktail, Shakerato, made with non-alcoholic amaro and their signature MAVEN cold brew. Another option: their Button Buck made with coconut, almond, lime and ginger beer. Yum yum 🍺

Grab an alcohol-free cocktail at this luxurious Michelin-starred French restaurant inside the Museum of Fine Arts Houston. They’re serving up the Le Jardin, made with cucumber, lime, fine herbs and soda. Or if you want to pretend like you’re on a tropical island and not in the middle of a Houston winter, sip on their Yellow Boots, which includes spiced pineapple tisane tea, coconut cordial and pandan, a fragrant tropical plant from Southeast Asia.

Amrina

For our suburban readers, Amrina, a fine dining restaurant in The Woodlands, is offering mocktails like their Mango Lemonade, made with cinnamon syrup, Richards Rainwater, and lemonade, of course 🍋 Or try their Shinkaji Mule, made with ginger beer, lime juice, and spiced syrup.

Enjoy a game of indoor mini golf with an alcohol-free beverage at Puttshack this month! From their passion fruit lemonade to their vibrant H2NO Ranch Water, you’ll have plenty of drink options to choose from.

Looking for a laid-back spot to sip? Try this comfy Midtown bar’s refreshing watermelon fresca, made with zero-proof tequila, lime juice, and watermelon, or their Perfect Tea, which includes zero-proof gin, hibiscus, and lime juice.
