The Best Date Night Ideas in HTX

00:00:00

Valentine’s Day is coming up soon and I want you to be prepared. Below, I have ideas on how to celebrate the special day with your date, friends, or by yourself. No matter what you decide to do, I hope you feel all the love this upcoming V-day ♥️

Celebrate Romance

The Friends of River Oaks Theater will host an evening screening of Richard Linklater’s “Before Sunset” at Midtown Arts & Theater Center. Before the movie, enjoy a performance from Texas songwriter and musician Sara Van Buskirk and personalized poems from Inprint’s poetry buskers. Grab your date for a twilight tour of the stunning Rienzi, featuring live music, hors d’oeuvres, and wine. Take in the Houston Botanic Garden’s beautiful and intimate Radiant Nature, showing off more than 50 Chinese lantern-style installations. Cozy up with your date for a performance from jazz singer and songwriter Raquel Cepeda at Midtown Arts & Theater Center. If you’re looking for something inexpensive and romantic, then have a sunset picnic at the James Turrell Skyspace.

Celebrate Friendships

Are you celebrating the day with your pals? Laugh the night away at The Riot’s Valentine’s Day comedy showcase at Rudyards or at The Secret Group’s Battle of the Sexes comedy show. Head to Axelrad, where you can shop from their evening marketplace, grab a drink, enjoy live jazz, or participate in a creative session with Houston Paint Sesh. Reset Bar is also hosting a Valentine’s Day themed game night

.

If you’re looking to meet new people or possibly a Valentine, grab a ticket to Cidercade’s stoplight party.

Celebrate Yourself

Sometimes you just need a day to treat yourself! Start your Valentine’s Day off with a make-up workshop by Urban Alchemy Lab. Devour a heart-shaped pizza at Betsy’s in Evelyn’s Park. Spend the evening strolling through Buffalo Bayou at a wellness walk led by Laura Conley, founder of Urban Paths. Make sure you don’t skip dessert! Grab a slice of pie from House of Pies, ice cream from Jeni’s, or a cookie from Crumbl or Tiff’s Treats.
