Your Guide to Houston in December

00:00:00

We’ve made it to the last month of the year! So, what are some fun activities, restaurants, and other things to check off your bucket list before the end of the year? I’m sharing some of the City Cast Houston’s crew recommendations.

Where Should You Eat

  • Producer Carlignon Jones recommends going to Grace’s on Kirby and warming up with their delicious chicken tortilla soup.
  • Executive Producer Dina Kesbeh loves to grab a cup of hot chocolate from ChocolatZeina on Westheimer. Plus, while you’re there try their chocolate waffles.
  • City Cast Houston Host Raheel Ramzanali is a major fan of birria tacos from Tacos Doña Lena in Spring Branch. His favorite part: The seven different salsas you get with your tacos.

Where To Go To Celebrate Winter

  • Dina enjoys going to Discovery Green and checking out their ice-skating rink. The area is also decorated for Christmas, so it’s easy to get into the holiday spirit. My tip: Head to Hearsay on The Green afterwards for a hot toddy or another delicious beverage.
  • Carli plans to take a trip to Santa’s Wonderland in College Station, featuring ice-skating, snow tubing, horse-drawn carriages, and yes, a playground to make snow angels.
  • Raheel recommends going to Elf In Concert at Smart Financial Centre, where you can watch the movie played with a live score.

Fun Winter Activities To Do

  • If you’re looking for exercise, Raheel has participated in this holiday light run through River Oaks. It’s the perfect way to get your heart pumping and view Christmas lights.
  • Carli is checking out Wonder Bar’s ice room in Midtown, where you can take ice shots and dance the night away.
  • Dina loves visiting the Christmas Village at Bayou Bend, where you can have a snowball fight, go snow-sledding, listen to music from carolers, and admire the 14-acre estate decorated for Christmas.
