Black Restaurant Week is ongoing until April 16. If you’re looking for a delicious Black-owned restaurant to try, here are some spots recommended by food influencer Bless Tha Belly. If you want the full rundown of Bless Tha Belly’s favorite spots, then listen to our recent podcast episode.

Best Lunch Spot

Stuff’d Wings on Richmond Avenue has it all: cajun fries, chicken tenders, cheesy mac n cheese, and shrimp and crawfish boudin. To me, the Scott St. Chicken Sandwich sounds the most mouthwatering with spiced mayo, coleslaw, mac n’cheese, CHI sauce, all on a brioche bun.

Best Dinner Spot

If you’re looking for a Southern-inspired classy night out, then check out Davis Street at Hermann Park. On the menu, you’ll see tons of savory seafood items including: grilled octopus, crispy redfish, and Boutte’s gumbo.

Most Houston Spot

Bless Tha Belly dubbed Burns Original BBQ as a restaurant that represents Houston and for good reason. Roy Burns Sr., started his small business back in 1973, selling barbecue with his signature rub and sauce to the Acres Homes community. Decades later and now with four locations, this restaurant has become a Houston staple.

Best Hidden Gem

You might not have heard of 3D’s Krazy Kitchen in north Houston, which sells wings and daiquiris — but that’s why you should try it. When you go, try the fish and shrimp platter, fish or chicken tacos. On Wednesdays, they have $6 margaritas 😉
