Believe it or not, we’re only eight days away from Thanksgiving! If you want to leave the cooking to somebody else this year, then I have the perfect guide for great take-out options to enjoy with your loved ones.

It’s Soul Food Time

One of my favorite restaurants in Houston is Lucille’s because of their classic and delicious soul food options. If you want to have a feel-good Thanksgiving filled with comfort food, then check out Lucille’s Thanksgiving menu. Some of the stand-outs include their cornbread collard green dressing, braised collard greens, and lemon icebox pie. And, if it’s your turn to bring mac & cheese, then you can’t mess up if you order Lucille’s mac & cheese. Trust me, everyone will love you at your Thanksgiving celebration.

Try a Delicious Indian Dish

Switch up your Thanksgiving menu and order from this beloved Indian restaurant by Nov. 24. Pondicherri has broken up their Thanksgiving offerings into packages tailored for different diets, from vegetarian and plant-based to meat-lovers. Some of their mouth-watering menu items include their butternut saffron soup, Kashmiri roasted lamb leg, and their sweet potato cardamom rolls with herb butter. Yum yum!

Barbecue for Thanksgiving?!

What is a Texas Thanksgiving without indulging in some tasty barbecue?! The Pit Room is offering fabulous to-go options for barbecue lovers. Order their whole turkeys, which are brined for 48 hours in brown sugar, sage and apples and then smoked over post oak. Or try their brisket that comes with a quart of barbecue sauce. Want to add a little spice to your celebration? Order their pre-batched margaritas or bold fashioned cocktails.

Something Other Than Turkey

Are you over turkey? Then, it’s time to try the crispy-skinned Peking duck from Duck N Bao. Enjoy their curated spread of Chinese dishes, including their tea-leaf smoked pork ribs, stir-fried lobster, sauteed string beans, and other goodies. Maybe you want a Malaysian-influenced Thanksgiving from Phat Eatery? My mouth is drooling over their options: lobster bisque, Malaysian seafood fried rice, and Wagyu Beef Rendang Wellington.

Mexican Food From a Houston Classic

Hugo’s, a popular Mexican restaurant in Houston, is offering Thanksgiving to-go items to order until Nov. 24. Order their family feast that includes whole pineapple and habanero spiral ham with sweet potatoes, tamal azteca, and jalapeño cranberry relish. And, what’s a Thanksgiving celebration without tamales? Try their pork with chile pulla, chicken mole poblano, or their mushroom with pipián, a red sauce made with pumpkin seeds and red chilis.
