Houston adults won’t have time to get bored this summer! Whether you want to pretend like you’re on a celebrity game show or in a real-life video game, there’s tons of childlike fun to get into around town. So, which exciting attraction should you visit first? I’m breaking it down below!

Visit Beat The Bomb ASAP

Think of this as a next-level escape room experience! You and your crew will suit up in hazmat gear and work to disarm a giant paint, foam, and slime bomb. If you don’t crack the code in time, well, you’re going to get blasted with slime. Also, make sure to check out their Bomb Bar featuring delicious cocktails, beer, and nonalcoholic drinks.

Here’s what City Cast Houston Producer Carlignon Jones loved about her experience: “I enjoyed everything about it from the kind staff to the vibey atmosphere. The experience was like none other, because it felt like we were transported into a real-life video game. My friends and I were able to get competitive, test out our spy skills, and finish the night off at their bar. I can’t wait to go back!"

Definitely Visit Houston Game Show

My friends love a good game night, so I already know I’m visiting this summer! This new game show studio allows you and up to 20 people to play a variety of games with similar names to popular shows, like “Name That Price” and “Wheel of Wonder.” It costs around $38 per person, which isn’t too bad considering the one-of-a-kind experience. My only hesitation: If you want a private room for only you and your friends, you have to pay an extra $250. A little high if you ask me, but maybe worth it if you have a large enough group to split the costs?

Skip Older Pickleball Courts and Try Something New

Tired of playing on the same pickleball courts and looking for somewhere new to break a sweat with your crew? Try out the recently opened Drop Shots HTX, located inside the Houston Farmers Market. Whether you want to sip on a fresh juice, cocktail, or mocktail, you can order one from their 4,000-square-foot bar. Solarium is another new pickleball spot to try in Midtown! Ready to play? Book one of their pickleball or paddle courts, or grab a bite from inside their lounge.

Skip Dairy Ashford Roller Rink & Try Bear Creek Roller Rink

Don’t get me wrong, I love Dairy Ashford Roller Rink in Spring Branch, but Bear Creek Roller Rink is another great option for adults looking for indoor skating fun this summer. Check out their adult skate nights on Wednesday and Friday evenings. Looking for a deal this summer? You and your crew can skate on Tuesday nights for just $5 each (plus $4 if you want to rent skates)!
