You won’t want to miss Brooke Wilson’s performance as hilarious businesswoman Olga in Houston’s world premiere of “The Ugly Xmas Sweater.” The musical, which can be described as “The Office” meets “Project Runway” follows the story of a company being bought out by an international conglomerate. To save their business, they must come up with the best Ugly Xmas sweater ever produced. Enjoy!

What do you enjoy the most about playing your character?

“I get to play the villain. She is a German business professional. She is coming to deliver the bad news that this uniform company is going to be caput and they will no longer have their jobs. What’s fun about her, is it’s all done with a tongue-and-cheek sense of humor. It’s been really fun to create a new character, doing a world premiere is really cool in that sense, [because] you get to put your own spin on the character that’s been given to you and really develop it.”

What is one of your favorite scenes in the musical?

“My favorite scene is the runway, where we get audience members to come on stage and they actually wear sweaters. I won’t give away too much about what each sweater is, but they’re fabulous, hilarious. Our costume department went all out.”

What do you like to do in Houston during the holidays?

“I work near the River Oaks neighborhood, so getting to drive home from work at night is just so fun to see how much it has grown. People are out walking around. There’s horse-drawn carriages. I always like driving through, just seeing the neighborhood lights and how all the communities come together.”

Grab your tickets! The musical runs through Christmas Eve.
